BIM Modeling Services

Definition of BIM

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a digital working method that uses virtual 3D digital models as the basis for planning, designing, building, managing and operating projects. 3D models contain more than just graphical information that allows you to associate properties with each building element (such as material type, performance data, and cost). Indeed, the models become the central repository of all relevant information about the project that the entire project team can use. BIM can be used for any type of project, not just buildings: bridges, roads, and other infrastructure projects can benefit from using BIM.

Got BIM software?

While BIM refers to the process of designing, building, managing, and operating a construction project using a model-driven method, it is so closely related to 3D modeling software that BIM is generally viewed as software. We call this the digital way of working because by using a centralized coordination model, BIM brings people together in a transparent process and enables reliable and efficient project management through better collaboration.

However, the 3D modeling software used for BIM will require additional features not usually found in CAD software, such as the OpenBIM interchange interfaces This allows team members to exchange information through the BIM model using the software of their choice.

How does BIM work?

With BIM, each discipline in a project generates its own 3D model of its part of the project and retains control and responsibility for that model. Each of these sub- models is combined into a central coordination model. which contains all the information for each submodel. This information gives meaning to objects (the cubic shape then represents a wall, for example) and describes the objects using properties such as energy properties, material, or weight. In addition, objects can be linked to information outside the model, such as a BOM or a drawing of a part. Transparency and communication are enhanced by using a central coordination model as the basis for assigning tasks among teams, collaborating and managing the design, construction and operation of a building.

Why use bim modeling services in construction?

Historically, construction projects have been a fragmented process with blueprints, documents, schedules, reports and BOMs arranged on different sides and in different formats. Sharing information between the different disciplines and the companies involved is difficult and often results in data loss or re-creation. bim consulting services helping to th t overcome this problem, ensuring that everyone , who works on the project can access the most current and relevant information to make more informed decisions.

With this open and collaborative approach, collisions, errors and inconsistencies can be identified early and corrected during the design phase. This saves a lot of time and money during the construction phase. Simulations can also be performed at an earlier stage using a central model — for example, to determine energy consumption or maintenance costs to optimize building performance. Communication between project teams is simplified and more efficient because everyone has access to the latest information. The overall result with BIM is a better design and building.
